The capital city of the Czech Republic is the also the largest in the country and it is easy to see why. The main part of the city is split into two main parts; Old Town (Old Town Square) is home to the famous astronomical clock and is the source of a lot of entertainment in the city, while New Town (Wenceslas square) is the busy shopping district.
A short walk from Old Town is the picturesque Charles Bridge and shortly on from there is Prague Castle which, according the Guiness Book of Records, is the largest ancient castle in the world.
Prague is especially nice to visit as an Easter or Christmas break, when the traditional market stalls line the streets.
Prague is the likely starting point for the start of your exploration of the Czech Republic, as the largest airport in the country is situated here.
